Tell me a little bit about you, your business and how you came to be involved in the wedding industry?
I am very lucky to live and work in the Devon countryside. I love my job, every day is different, meeting new couples and being a part of such a creative industry.
I always knew I was going to end up doing something creative, I loved design and art and continued that through my A-Levels. I eventually joined the world of floristry through a friend, trained as a wedding florist before moving in to retail where I trained again for a year. 8 years ago I bought the business I was working for and then a year ago I decided to move to a studio to concentrate on the weddings. They are my passion and I am very lucky to do what I do so it was the best move for me and for the business to move forward.

What makes you different from your competitors and what inspires you?
I offer a very personal service from start to finish, I make it clear my clients are welcome to pop in to see me as much as they need to and I am always at the end of the phone. I cater for a variety of different styles and always happy to try new things.
I’m inspired by so much around me. Where I work for a start, I’m in an old barn surrounded by the countryside which is just lovely. I’m also lucky enough to have a fantastic network of wedding industry friends who inspire me every day. And my clients… the change in ideas and the inspiration they get from various avenues is just amazing so I love being able to create new things with them to make their day unique.
What bit of your job do you enjoy the most?
I love meeting with so many different couples, their family and friends and getting to know them all, their ideas and their plans for their wedding day. Ultimately I love being able to create beautiful floral pieces, they all vary so much my weeks are very different from the last and I love that morning when all the fresh flowers arrive in for the first time, seeing them all together and the smells, the colours sometimes are just fantastic.
